SKIN TAGS
What are Skin Tags?
Skin tags are quite common and are not dangerous.
A skin tag looks like a small piece of hanging skin, often with a short stalk.
They can occur on numerous parts of the body including the neck, underarms, eyelids, and under the breasts.
Although skin tags may vary in appearance, they are usually smooth or slightly wrinkled and irregular, flesh-colored or slightly brown. Some skin tags may be up to 1cm across.
What is the cause of Skin Tags?
Skin tags can be a genetic disposition. They can become more common with age and in those who are overweight or who have diabetes. Skin tags are usually painless and do not grow or change. The cause of skin tags is unknown they may be irritated from rubbing by clothing or other materials.
How are skin tags removed?
Skin tags are removed by using Advanced Electrolysis. Before the treatment can take place, a consultation and medical questionnaire is completed. The treatment process requires the tip of a small probe to be used with a tiny energy current to remove the blemished area. The treatment itself is a little uncomfortable but easily tolerated. There are minimal after effects, with a little tightness and scabbing to be expected. Each treatment lasts up to 15 minutes.
What results are expected?
Skin Tags change in appearance immediately and then drop off a couple of days later, leaving smooth skin (a small mark may remain for a short time, but this will fade) This treatment is suitable for men and woman on the face and on other body areas.
How much does it cost?
£35 per session.
A series of sessions may be needed if there are numerous skin tags.
BLOOD SPOTS
What are Blood Spots?
Blood Spots (also known as Campbell de Morgan spots) are bright red spots usually a couple of millimetres across although they may grow to being half a centimetre. They are usually very bright red and have a very clear margin. They should not be confused with thread veins or spider veins which have red streaky veins radiating away from them.
What causes Blood Spots?
Blood spots are coils of abnormal blood vessels that come through the skin and are very close the surface which is what causes their bright red colour. Blood Spots usually develop on the skin as we get older. They become more common and larger as you get older. They are often found on the chest, abdomen or arms. They can also be found on the back or on the neck.
Are they Dangerous?
They are not dangerous; they are purely a cosmetic problem. Removing these unsightly blemishes is safe and leaves no remaining trace.
How are blood spots removed?
Advanced Electrolysis is used to remove the blood spots. A tiny probe makes contact with the blood spot and a small energy current coagulates the blood and the vessel collapses and disappears. A small mark is left which fades after a short time. Repeat treatments may be required occasionally if there are large numbers of blood spots. Before the treatment can take place, a consultation and medical questionnaire is completed. The treatment itself is a little uncomfortable but easily tolerated. There are minimal after effects, with a little heat and swelling in the surrounding area.
How much does it cost?
Each treatment lasts 15 minutes at £35 per session. This treatment is suitable for men and women. Facial areas and other body areas treated.
